What this service is

We organise travel in Laos for leisure travellers, families and business groups: airport and cross-border transfers, private tours with multilingual guides, and business study visits to companies, farms and economic zones.

Because the same group handles translation, permits and business meetings, we can combine sightseeing with a full programme of appointments. This is especially useful for investors visiting Laos for the first time.

Who it is for

  • International visitors who want a private, well-organised trip
  • Chinese and Thai groups travelling by road or rail
  • Business delegations and investor visits
  • Companies planning incentive trips or team travel
  • Families and VIP guests who need reliable transfers

Travel information

Practical things to know before you travel. Ask us about anything that is not covered here.

Best time to visit

November to February is cool and dry, the most popular season. March to May is hot, with haze in the north in March and April. June to October is the green season: lush landscapes, full waterfalls and fewer visitors. Festivals to plan around: Lao New Year (mid-April), the boat racing festivals (October) and the That Luang Festival (November).

Getting to Laos

International airports in Vientiane (VTE) and Luang Prabang (LPQ). From Thailand, cross the Friendship Bridge at Nong Khai. From China, cross-border trains run from Kunming to Vientiane on the Laos–China Railway.

Getting around

The Laos–China Railway links Vientiane, Vang Vieng and Luang Prabang: about 1 hour to Vang Vieng and about 2 hours to Luang Prabang. Tickets go on sale only a few days before travel and sell out quickly, so we book them for you with your passport details. Stations are outside the towns; we meet you with a van.

Visa and entry

Citizens of ASEAN countries can usually visit without a visa for a short stay. Many other nationalities can apply for an e-Visa or get a visa on arrival. Your passport should be valid for at least six months. Rules change, so we check the requirements for your passport before you book.

Money and phone

The currency is the Lao kip (LAK). Carry some cash: cards are accepted mainly in larger hotels and restaurants, and ATMs are found in the towns. Local SIM cards with mobile data are cheap and easy to buy with your passport.

Temple etiquette

Cover shoulders and knees in temples and take off your shoes before entering. Women should not touch monks. During the morning alms giving, watch quietly from a distance and do not use flash.
